Since her debut album in 1992, Cindy Morgan has been a part of the pulse of Christian music both as an artist and behind the scenes as a songwriter, writing several hits for well known artists.
This year at the 2008 GMA Dove Awards, Cindy Morgan was honored with awards for Country Recorded Song of the Year for “How You Live” recorded by Point of Grace (performing the song with them at the award ceremony) and Songwriter of the Year, the highest award given to a Christian songwriter. Not being one to sit around resting on successes, Morgan challenges herself once again with her newest CD “Beautiful Bird”.
With her latest CD, “Beautiful Bird,” Morgan decided to release independently to, as she states in a recent interview, “throw the rule book out the window” - enabling her to record each song freely without boundaries. The result is a beautiful collection of songs that cohesively contribute to a solid album but with each song able to stand on its own. Once again fans, critics and industry insiders alike are sharing rave reviews of what could possibly be the best of Cindy Morgan to date.
Delving into a diverse mix of styles, “Beautiful Bird” brings you inside Cindy Morgan’s musical closet, the music that has been her creative inspiration through the years, from Appalachia to Pop, Country to Orchestral arraignments. Morgan blends these forms into a tribute to the gifts that God has offered her. “I have produced my own demos for years and have spent the better part of my adult life in a studio, but until now, I hadn’t felt completely ready for such a task. I have been so fortunate to work with so many great producers over the years,” continued Morgan. “For the last couple of years, there has been a strong sense in my heart to step out and stand on my own two creative feet. So that is what I decided to do.
