Worship2Action

Worship2Action

A couple of weeks ago we we set out to cover the MercyMe/Kutless show in Findlay, Ohio and what we experienced was a whole lot more than just a music event.

While getting ourselves organized to properly cover the event, we got in touch with the organizers of Worship2Action. We used this opportunity to learn about their organization and give some credit for organizing two amazing groups of artists in a local venue (well it was nearly a 3 hour drive and I did find the land where cellphones don’t exist along the way).

Worship2Action was founded by four friends who, through a passion for God’s presence and a drive to find and follow God’s plan for their individual lives, decided to reach out to help others come to know His love. - Worship2Action

In 2004, Mike Peak, Pat Lanza, Don Moen and Eric Eitel decided to band together to bring their message to a wider audience. Combining their skills, talents, knowledge, resources, and passion, Worship2Action was born.

On this trip we met two of these friends, Worship2Action’s executive director, Eric Eitel and president, Mike Peak.

Eric and I had a number of conversations prior to the event and I realized that we shared a number of common stories about our journeys with God and through my conversations with him have gone back through the events in my life leading up to this point and seeing even more of those what they call “God deals.” The best way I can describe meeting Eric at the show was it was like meeting an old friend for the first time.

Mike was running around most of the show trying to get every last minute detail together and came across as this dedicated, unstoppable, energizer bunny of a force. Driven.. that would best describe Mike Peak.

Since we had our mobile ready for anything press gear with us they asked if during Mike’s speech we could record it for use on their own website.
It was then that in the packed auditorium that I was able to have a personal moment with Mike. Through the lens of a camera I was able to sit one on one with him. Yes, he was speaking to the entire room but there is something about being behind a still or video camera that enables you to focus on your subject and share something that the rest of the world may not see. Thank you Mike.

Christopher is a Christian, husband, graphic designer, web programmer, photographer, ninja, poet, cat whisperer (though I think my own cats don't speak English). I tend to write as it comes out so I keep the editor quite busy. I have the grammar skills of a Nerf football but it makes sense if you read it over a few times.
